Let me preface this post by saying that I am CRAZY! Crazy about my pups! I may get a little over-excited when talking about the success of our training program with Houston's newest and best dog trainer, Stephanie Bennett of Get Along Little Doggie! Last night Stephanie worked one-on-one with Jacques and Isabella and they are already working on a command where they nicely lay in one spot until asked to leave it. The idea that we are going to be able to take them anywhere and make sure they are safe and comfortable by using this command blows me away! Since I have them in the office with me all day, I really miss them when I go places. Knowing that I will be able to take them out more often excites me!
After last night's success, I couldn't wait to "work" with Isabella this morning. I am more than proud to report that she is well on her way to mastering sit, shake and lying down. Each time she did her "job" she lit up with excitement! She seriously looks like she is eager to learn more. It's not because of the food either...she loves the learning part! All this in four short days! I am simply AMAZED at Steph's training! It is such a positive experience for the dog and the human! I think I get just as excited as she does each time she completes a task. The best part is that she seems less bored during the day. She used to be a little antsy at times during the day while I was working. Not anymore. It's not that she didn't get tons of playtime before either, it's just that she is using her mind and body and, I believe, having a more fulfilling day!
I can't say enough about Stephanie and Get Along Little Doggie. We are luck to have her as a trainer in Houston! If I were you I would contact her ASAP. She just got here and is already booking up! Stay tuned for progress reports...I have a feeling they will be frequent! Have to add the pic of Isabella and Jacques sleeping at my feet as I type. Tired trained tricksters!

It's great to read a post from someone excited their dog is learning to behave:) I definitely need Steph to exact her skills on my dogs too....we have a few too many accidents but I'm sure Steph would tell me I am the problem! I'm excited to have another skilled trainer in our midst and we at Houston PetTalk look forward to following her success....welcome to Houston Stephanie!
