Happy Friday from the Henley Pups!

Meet the Henley pups, proud pooches of mom Cynthia!  Following is what she had to say about her pups!

"Hi!  I'm a member of the Greater Houston Area Boston Terrier Rescue Group (BTRG).  I love volunteering, including taking in fosters to help prepare them to go to their forever homes.  I am currently on my third foster, Reilly.

 

My Boston, Dixie Mae, is in the attached pictures.  In one, she is demonstrating her beautiful smile, and in the other, she is expressing her interest in Reilly, by yawning widely!

 

Both Dixie Mae & my pekingnese, Toki, have been very tolerant, and Dixie has even become friendly, with each of the fosters so far.  I'm blessed to have loving babies who also give up some of their time with Mommy to share with the fosters.  (Toki is 5.5 & Dixie will be 5 in November.  I've had them all their lives.)"

Houston Dog Blog Visits PetSmart's PetsHotel!

Isabella and I recently went to tour PetSmart's PetsHotel and thought we'd share our experience.  The facility is a great place for pets while parents are away.  They have many different options for your pup or kitten, all at a price that won't break the bank.  What I noticed most was how nice and attentive the staff were.  Led by an awesome manager, Jackie Guevara, the entire staff seemed excited to be working there.  They all really do love animals and love to give visiting furry friends the love and attention they need when we are away.  I was especially impressed to learn that you can call anytime during lobby hours and actually talk to your dog!  They will put them on the phone with you in the Bone Booth!  I was equally impressed with the Doggie Day Camp and play area.  All the dogs were having a blast, all under the careful supervision of a happy staffer.  If you are one of our feline favoring friends, you will love the Kitty Cottages.  Perfect for a persnickety pussycat.

Nito Looking for Forever Home!

"Meet Nito!  He was dumped at a vet clinic with his food bowl with his name on it. They groomed him and brought him to Citizens for Animal Protection. Chestnut Animal Clinic in Bellaire donated an exam on him and he has dry eye so will need meds for life. Special needs dogs have a tough time during good economic times; it will be extremely difficult to find him a home now.

The good news is that he should be able to discontinue medication after a while,(owner neglect

added to his problem) and a compounding pharmacy can lessen the expense of his primary medicine by 2/3 off traditional vet prescription.
