Lone Star Animal Recovery opened its doors in July of last year with a special mission—to provide professional and humane, domestic and wildlife controls and solutions. The company started with the belief that wildlife as well as problem dogs and feral cats could be captured from homes and businesses, with every effort made to protect them from being harmed or destroyed in the process.

Lone Star has a wide variety of other specialties including bee removal, snake capture and release, and even removal of wild hogs. Recently, Mr. Worthy has been hired for home-owner associations concerned with wild dog packs that were harassing and threatening people.
Any traps that are used to secure animals are checked daily so that no animal is left unattended or unprotected in a cage. For the homeowner who wants to try their hand at getting rid of pest animals, trap rentals of all sizes are available. You can even make arrangements with Lone Star to pick up the animal(s) and remove it for you. (FYI, because rabies is at an emergency level in Texas, according to the Rabies Control and Eradication Administrative Code,* it is illegal for a person to transport certain animals that are high risk for transmitting rabies, including coyotes, species of foxes indigenous to North America, and raccoons, to, from, or within the state.) Mr. Worthy also does restoration work on damaged property and repairs to avoid future invasion, clean up of attics and insulation, and replacement and sealing of chimney caps. There isn’t much that they won’t tackle and they are always happy to talk to anyone who is seeking advice or information on problem animals. Recently, the company has branched out to include pet chauffeuring—providing non-emergency pet transportation to vets, groomers, kennels, and even to the airports. Lone Star makes every effort to ensure that pets have a safe and stress-free trip, with or without you.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Katy’s Pawty Palace, a totally unique pooch paradise located at 1402 East Avenue in Katy. After meeting Jen, I couldn’t wait to tell everyone about her one-of-a-kind pet lovers destination!
The Pawty Palace is a dog boutique with a selection of pup-worthy products ranging from antique pet-themed prints and collectibles to the hottest dog couture and accessories. They also carry Nature's Variety RAW food, as well as a variety of other gourmet dog foods and treats.
