Rover's Makeovers! Rover Oaks Pet Resort, Taking Homeless Pups from Bow to Wow!

 

The pup-tastic grooming staff at Rover Oaks Pet Resort in Katy are helping animals from Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) go from bow to wow by providing weekly doggie makeovers for two lucky CAP dogs each Wednesday. Both pups also receive a free grooming certificate from Rover Oaks Katy so their new adoptive parents can continue to keep them looking their best! 

 

This week our makeovers feature Benji, a 3 year old terrier mix, and Melvin, a 6 year old poodle.

Meet Benji BEFORE His Rover’s Makeover! 

 

 

Benji was an owner surrender, given up because they said he was aggressive with the other dogs over food. Given how severely matted he was and how filthy, we can only imagine the conditions he lived in...and how he might have felt that he needed to fight over food. This issue is easily managed in the right home. He was an absolute angel for the groomer, especially considering how uncomfortable the process must have been for him. He had to be completely shaved so he can start over. Please give him a chance at a good home where he will be cared for and loved...he is a really nice boy and we'd love to see the sad look gone from his eyes!

Meet Melvin BEFORE His Rover’s Makeover!

Melvin came to CAP from another area shelter. He was found as a stray and we don't know his previous circumstances, but he obviously hasn't had an easy life. Melvin had horrible dental disease, so bad that it also affected his heart. He has now had dental work done (and lost most of his teeth in the process) and is on medications for his heart condition. In spite of all of that, Melvin has young eyes and a young spirit, and is a sweet and cuddly little guy who can have many good years left with proper medical management.
