Whole Foods Market and Pet Paradise have teamed to wash dogs to raise funds for SNAP (Spay-Neuter Assistance Program), which provides free and low-cost wellness and spay-neuter services to help combat the overpopulation crisis facing dogs and cats in Houston. Community residents are encouraged to stop by and donate to SNAP while their four legged friends get a bath! Who knew helping animals could be such good clean fun! Also, SNAP will be accepting donations of pet supplies to assist in their efforts in the low income communities.

WHY:
SNAP, the recipient of the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Pinnacle Award from the Better Business Bureau, is a 501(c)(3) organization that operates in Houston, and San Antonio, Texas, with a mission to prevent the suffering and death of cats and dogs due to overpopulation, especially in low-income areas. SNAP envisions a world without homeless dogs and cats. Both Houston and San Antonio have expressed the desire to become “no kill” cities in the near future. SNAP recognizes that sterilization programs, which by definition reduce the number of animals that could possibly be born, are essential to these communities’ reaching that desired status. SNAP will focus on helping these cities reach their goal by designing, delivering, promoting, and advancing community-based animal sterilization services. One thing I love about grilling and dining outdoors is the relaxed atmosphere it creates. You don't have to dress up, most of the food that accompanies grilling is easy and everyone is just there to enjoy being together and having a good time. You don't stress about perfect table settings or linens or fancy food.
