The Houston Dog Blog is the premier portal for all things dog (and pet) in Houston. Since 2008, the Houston Dog Blog has been providing Houston animal friendly folks with the latest news, events, product reviews, and pet related insight on a daily basis.
Ryan Rice, public relations expert, started the Houston Dog Blog in honor of his Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Isabella. Isabella can be seen throughout the blog in the banner and promotional images. She is Canine Good Citizen certified and is also the spokesdog for the SNAP charity making many public appearances.
Ryan set out to create a community where pet lovers could come and find the latest news, products and happenings in the pet world from an unbiased source. The HDB does not accept monetary compensation for editorial content. Ever. The opinions on the blog are the honest opinion of Ryan Rice or our other authors and include real-world testing with Isabella and her brothers and sisters. If a product is blogged about, it is because we like it, and not because we have been paid to tell you about it. Those types of posts will NEVER appear on this site. Any sponsored item will be clearly marked as such. Please continue reading this page for our full disclosure statement!
There are many ways for you to partner with the blog. To advertise, visit our advertising section for full details on how to sponsor the blog. For product reviews, photo submissions, event listings, giveaways, and appearance requests, please visit the "Submissions" section of the blog.
The Houston Dog Blog (HDB) is a pet-related blog and all sponsorships must be geared towards this industry. While all sponsorships and advertising is handled through a third-party source, the HDB reserves the right to refuse any sponsor or advertisement on the blog that does not fit within our guidelines. The only form of financial compensation accepted on this blog is via sponsorship advertisements on the side bars. HDB will never accept cash payments for posts, product reviews, giveaways, event listings, or any other editorial coverage. The HDB may accept products or services for the purpose of evaluation. All editorial content is written free of bias.
Visit the advertisement page for information on types of advertising sponsorships available. Advertising takes place on the blog in the form of banner ads from our sponsors on the side bar of the blog. All sponsor advertising will always be denoted as such. Occasionally, links within posts may be sponsored links, and will not be noted. The HDB also participates in affiliate programs where the HDB may receive a portion of sales from clicking on a link within our site. These programs all help to keep the blog going full-speed, so please support all of our sponsors. The Houston Dog Blog does not participate in link exchanges. An advertisement on the site will be denoted as a sponsorship, and a link should be understood to be a referral from our site.
Product reviews are the most sought-after portion of the Houston Dog Blog. Complete submission guidelines are under the "submissions" tab at the top of the blog. Companies may and should provide the blog with a sample product or service in order for the Houston Dog Blog to form a complete evaluation of the product. Providing a product or service will in NO WAY effect the outcome of the review. If a product is not okay, we will not tell you otherwise. All approved products are fully tested and our methods our explained in each post. The HDB reserves the right to not blog on any product/service that we have received, but every effort is made to publicize your product. However, please remember that our reviews have always been and will always be 100% honest and we prefer to omit coverage than write a negative review.PRIVACY
Your privacy is very important to us. Your personal contact information will never be sold or given to any third party source.
