The pup-tastic grooming staff at Rover Oaks Pet Resort in Katy are helping animals from Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) go from bow to wow by providing weekly doggie makeovers for lucky CAP dogs each Wednesday. The pups also receive a free grooming certificate from Rover Oaks Katy so their new adoptive parents can continue to keep them looking their best!
This week's makeovers feature Mara the sheltie/heeler mix and Scribbles the wire fox terrier mix. Neither pup needed much in the way of making over, just a good bath and a little trim and clean up.
Meet Mara BEFORE Her Rover's Makeover!
Mara is about three years old, with beautiful coloring. She came to CAP from another area shelter, where she originally came in as a stray. She is sweet, quiet, friendly and well-behaved. She did manage to scrape her nose raw, we think from trying to "bury" treats or food in her room. Mara was good for the grooming staff, just needs some practice getting used to being trimmed around her neck.

Meet Scribbles BEFORE Her Rover's Makeover!
Scribbles came to CAP as an owner surrender, turned in because they had too many pets. She is about 2 years old and very scared in the shelter environment. Although she was also very scared for grooming, she behaved very nicely and is a sweet and quiet little girl who deserves a great family.
Check Out Scribbles NOW!
Scribbles, Mara and many other wonderful dogs, cats and small animals are waiting patiently for wonderful homes at Citizens for Animal Protection, 17555 Katy Freeway (I-10 at Barker-Clodine, near Barker-Cypress, click here for a map and driving directions). You can also visit them on the web at www.cap4pets.org, but as there are many more animals at the shelter than are listed on the site, it is definitely worth a visit. Hurry over to CAP, your new best friend is waiting to meet you!
