    I've Been Caught!

Check out Houston dog trainer, Stephanie Bennett's latest post on Houston Pet Talk Magazine's website.  I know that she is not only speaking to me in this post, but WOW...I have done all of the things she has mentioned at some point or another.  I admit, I feel like Isabella is part human and therefore understands my complex ramblings...but alas she does not.  This is definitely a post we should all read!!

Speaking of Training, its Time for Isabella's Progress Report!

As I have been sharing, Isabella is currently training with Houston's newest and best dog trainer, Stephanie Bennett from Get Along Little Doggie!  I am happy to report that she is excelling in her training and really enjoying the interaction with Stephanie!  It's no wonder Stephanie was such a hit with the celebrities in Los Angeles!  Her training techniques are both fun and encouraging and have helped Isabella and I build an even stronger relationship!

She has mastered sit, down and shake, and is becoming a pro at spinning and hanging in her "place!"  The latter is one of the coolest training tricks ever!  "Place" represents what we would normally call stay, however it gives the pup a comfortable place to hang out, and is usually combined with a raised platform bed that can be transported anywhere you take your dog.  This has enabled us to go everywhere while making sure Isabella has a comfortable spot and is safe, sound and relaxed.  It also helps when the doorbell rings, visitors come over or when you want to eat dinner without having cute brown puppy-dog eyes pleading for a bite!  Isabella loves her "place" so much, that she often goes there on her own, further emphasizing their desire to have a "place" of their own!

I can't describe how exciting it is to watch your pup learn and to celebrate their successes!  If you want a happy, well-behaved pooch that you can take anywhere...look no further than Get Along Little Doggie!

Isabella LOVES her place bed!  She often retreats there to nap!  She likes to think of it as her very own throne!

Houston Dog Trainer, Stephanie Bennett, on Sunny 99.1!

We are so excited to hear that our favorite Houston dog trainer, Stephanie Bennett from Get Along Little Doggie, is now hitting the airwaves with our favorite radio station, Sunny 99.1!  Stephanie is working with Dana Tyson and Marc Sherman from the morning show to help listeners with training and behavior issues, all with the goal of strengthening your relationship with your pet!  Make sure you tune into Sunny every morning as they are not only huge animal supporters, but they are also a great team that will help you start the day off with a little sunshine!

I will post the clips from the shows as I receive them, but you can check out Sunny Morning Show website to hear podcasts, find helpful resources and most of all to get a laugh!

Houston Trainer Stephanie Bennett's First Houston Pet Talk Blog Post!

Get Along Little Doggie's Stephanie Bennett, Isabella's trainer (that is kinda fun to say, like she is J. Lo or Cameron Diaz leaving a hip gym in Hollywood), has a great blog on our friend site, Houston Pet Talk!  It is fed into our site in the left column.  Her most recent post is something that really helped us.  Isabella needs a lot of mental stimulation!  Since we have been training, she has definitely  been able to test her mental acuity, as have I!  I am so excited that her new interactive toys are in the mail.  Ordered them the other day.  The squirrel toy is awesome (its the one with the little chihuahua in her post)!!!

Great things are happening with Get Along Little Doggie and you will soon be hearing more from Stephanie in her blog and beyond!  Of course, we'll keep you posted along the way!

    Training Tails!

Let me preface this post by saying that I am CRAZY!  Crazy about my pups!  I may get a little over-excited when talking about the success of our training program with Houston's newest and best dog trainer, Stephanie Bennett of Get Along Little Doggie!  Last night Stephanie worked one-on-one with Jacques and Isabella and they are already working on a command where they nicely lay in one spot until asked to leave it.  The idea that we are going to be able to take them anywhere and make sure they are safe and comfortable by using this command blows me away!  Since I have them in the office with me all day, I really miss them when I go places.  Knowing that I will be able to take them out more often excites me!

After last night's success, I couldn't wait to "work" with Isabella this morning.  I am more than proud to report that she is well on her way to mastering sit, shake and lying down.  Each time she did her "job" she lit up with excitement!  She seriously looks like she is eager to learn more.  It's not because of the food either...she loves the learning part!  All this in four short days! I am simply AMAZED at Steph's training!  It is such a positive experience for the dog and the human!  I think I get just as excited as she does each time she completes a task.  The best part is that she seems less bored during the day.  She used to be a little antsy at times during the  day while I was working.  Not anymore.  It's not that she didn't get tons of playtime before either, it's just that she is using her mind and body and, I believe, having a more fulfilling day!

I can't say enough about Stephanie and Get Along Little Doggie.  We are luck to have her as a trainer in Houston! If I were you I would contact her ASAP.  She just got here and is already booking up!  Stay tuned for progress reports...I have a feeling they will be frequent!  Have to add the pic of Isabella and Jacques sleeping at my feet as I type.  Tired trained tricksters!

    Training Tails!

Isabella completed her second day of training yesterday with Hollywood Dog Trainer, Stephanie Bennett, who just moved to Houston!  I honestly didn't expect for her to learn so quickly and to see results so early, but we are mastering sit and "nice to meet you" (aka "shake")!  We will be starting on a few new "jobs" today and I can't wait to share the success.  I have to tell you, nothing is more exciting than watching your pup light up with excitement each time they learn something new.  Stephanie's training is gentle, patient and most of all successful!  If you have been looking for a Houston dog trainer that will help you strengthen your bond with your pooch, while teaching them skills to make them the best companion possible, look no further than Get Along Little Doggie.  Her experience training celebrity dogs in Los Angeles brings a new spin on dog training in Houston and will help make your cuddly canine the star of your home!
